Following the shocking conclusion of Impostor Striketh Back the indomitable Impostor is once again locked away in his tower where he lives as an ascetic monk.  But when his creative drive wanes, and he prepares to slough off his mischievous past in exchange for a holier future, the creations of his imagination (two bumbling heralds, a sly smuggler, and a relentless chorus) enlist a young virgin to zap him back to his former state of mind.  When the plot hatches, however, it unleashes a mighty tempest that will ultimately blur the lines between God and madness.
FLOURISH
They say he’s reborn, reformed and resworn
An oath to the lord and blows hard his horn
Which trumpets a call at all who would fall
To rise and rejoin His heavenly halls.
They say his souls saved that villainous knave
With debts all repaid and sins washed in waves
Of seismic refrains that echo the land
Commanding Impostor repent and remand.
They say he’s gone soft, and turns other cheeks
To keep it polite and side with the meek,
Confides with the priests and takes up the cloth
While fasting all day he eats naught but broth.
I say it’s a sham, a ploy and a scam
But others believe and follow that lamb
To pastures where I now bring us to graze
For here we will play; so lend us thy gaze.
Exit.
